FACULTY OF EDUCATION
VACANCY NO. FE/FCS 1/2016: LECTURER IN TEXTILE AND CLOTHING, DEPARTMENT OF
FAMILY AND CONSUMER SCIENCES (2 year contract position)
Duties: The
successful applicant will be expected to: (i) Provide academic leadership
through enhancement of teaching, research and community service activities of
the department; (ii) Teach Textile and Clothing and other Family and Consumer
Studies courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels; (iii) Initiate,
develop and establish research programs in Textile and Clothing and other
related areas in Family and Consumer Sciences together with other staff in the
department; (iv) Carry out any other responsibilities as may be assigned by the
Head of Department.
Requirements:
Applicants must have (i) a minimum of a Master’s Degree in Home Economics/
Family and Consumer Sciences in Textile and Clothing; (ii) a Bachelor’s Degree
in Home Economics/ Family and Consumer Sciences in Textile and Clothing with at
least 2(i) pass/GPA of at least 3.6 or equivalent. (iii) evidence of engagement
in research and service. University teaching experience will be an added
advantage.
