Botswana Railways invites suitably qualified Occupational Health and Safety Experts with a proven track record to apply for the position of SHEQ Manager tenable Botswana Railways Headquarters - Mahalapye. This is a Senior Management position reporting to the Chief Executive Officer. The ideal candidate will oversee the safety, health environment and quality assurance side of the railway.

Main Purpose of the job:
To formulate and direct policies to provide a safe atmosphere within the workplace and to comply with all local, regional and international environmental and safety regulations. To plan and coordinate work systems to ensure that the products or services of the company meet the highest quality standards and that the working conditions of the company are favorable and safe. Ensure day to day operations to lead, develop and maintain the railway and Sites SHEQ management programmes and systems in written format and recording and through face to face contact, communication and team briefing.

Position Requirements:

Education: Bachelor of Science in Safety, Health and Environment or a Degree in Engineering with specialization in Safety, Health and Environment E or related discipline. Professional Training in ISO 9001 (Implementation, Documentation and Auditing), ISO 14001 (Implementation and Auditing) and ISO 18001 (Implementation and Auditing). Extensive experience in ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. Professional membership of a recognized institute will be an added advantage.

Experience: Ten (10) years’ experience, five (5) of which should be in a Managerial role.

Main Purpose of the Job:

Reporting directly to the Director Finance and Corporate Services within Botswana Railways, the candidate will be responsible for collecting and analysing the business financial information through the application of modern accounting techniques to determine the cost of business products and services. Lead in the development and verification of relevant data to conduct a compa-ratio analysis of actual costs against the internal business estimates and recommend appropriate variance mitigation factors.

Position Requirements:

Educational:
Accounting Degree qualification plus fully qualifi ed ACCA, CA or CIMA and Membership to
BICA or any other Accounting Professional Body.

Experience: Minimum of Five (5) years cost accounting experience at a Management level and knowledge of Accounting Software or ERP systems.
