Purpose of the Role

To provide effective unit management and maintenance of nursing standards.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Recommends and incorporate cost saving initiatives into budget and operates within approved parameters
  • Ensures that patients, families and siginificant others are well informed and included in patient care planning
  • Implements and manages the nursing care risk profile preventative programs 
  • Manages appropriate supply and utilisation of resources to meet the needs of the clients.
  • Maintains unit consumables and equipment stock levels, investigates deviations and escalates persistent discrepancies
  • Identifies and implements creative and innovative ideas to continuously improve and sustain business performance
  • Manages subordinates key effective areas by settling, monitoring and reviewing performance
  • Establishes and maintains Business Partner relationships with all key stakeholders to facilitate the optimal functioning of the functional area
  • Implements knowledge management principles through application of tools and methodologies to continuously improve and sustain business performance
  • Identifies and coordinates the implementation of and adherence to legal and corporate governance principles/requirements in area of responsibility

  • Takes cognizance of, adheres to and promotes Corporate Governance and Company policies and procedures relating to inter alia; safety, health, environmental, risk and security issues

Education

  • Diploma in General Nursing

Experience

  • Post basic qualification in nursing.
  • 5 years post qualification experience in nursing.

Purpose of the Role

To provide comprehensive Nursing care to patients / clients.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Recommends and incorporates cost saving initiatives
  • Assesses and monitors the progress of pregnancy, caries out investigations, interprets and treats
  • Admits and assesses antenatal and labouring women and determines appropriate care plan
  • Compiles and analyses different statistics to relevant authorities
  • Conducts and interpret fetal heart traces to determine fetal emergencies that require medical intervention
  • Conducts deliveries and surgical interventions within the scope of practice
  • Consults patients, investigates, analyses, diagnoses, prescribes, dispenses medications and refers within scope of practice
  • Coordinates and monitors the implementation of safety, health and environmental programs in area of responsibility taking cognisance of all legal requirements
  • Counsels patients to achieve emotional and physical wellbeing with regards to their medical conditions
  • Develops and implements individual nursing care plans and evaluates patient response to interventions, take appropriate action within scope of practice
  • Discharge all low risk mothers post partum and conducts domicilliary care
  • Educates patients, families and the community on health related issues in collaboration with other stakeholders
  • Escorts high risk cases and provides emergency care as necessary
  • Establishes and maintains Business Partner relationships with all key stakeholders to facilitate the optimal functioning of the nursing section
  • Identifies and implements creative and innovative ideas to continuously improve and sustain business performance
  • Identifies and refers high risk pregnancies and show care accordingly
  • Implement relevant management plans for high risk mothers intrapartum and monitor all inpatients
  • Implements Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission Programme(PMTCT) as per protocols
  • Implements and manages the nursing care risk profile preventative programs
  • Implements knowledge management principles through application of tools and methodologies to continuously improve and sustain business performance
  • Implements measures that ensure that patients have a dignified demise and provides last office care
  • Maintains unit consumables and equipment stock levels, investigates deviations and escalates persistent discrepancies
  • Manages obstetric emergencies(shoulder dystocia,etc) in collaboration with other clinicians
  • Participates in improvement of clinical knowledge by conducting case reviews, presentations and audits
  • Performs invasive and non invasive procedures within the scope of practice.eg catheterization, dressings etc
  • Performs periodic stock take
  • Prescribes narcotic drugs for maternity cases according to legal guidelines (Drug related substance Act e.g pethidine)
  • Provide basic life support during medical emergencies ,call outs and manages patients on transit to higher facilities within scope of practice
  • Provides antenatal care to inpatients according to their needs
  • Provides neonatal care accordingly to client needs and refer when necessary
  • Provides postpartum care according to clients needs (normal deliveries, operative deliveries and complicated cases)
  • Provides preventative and promotive health care during early childhood, adolescent, pre natal by Identification of risks, manages and or refers
  • Provides specialised care for patients admitted in high care
  • Receives, initiates neonatal resuscitation and manages outcome
  • Records use of stock on charge sheets
  • Triage patients to determine patient acuity for appropriate time based intervention

Other Job Responsibilities

  • Takes cognizance of and adheres to policies and procedures relating to inter-alia safety, health and environmental issues.

Education

  • Diploma in General Nursing
  • Diploma. in Midwifery

Experience

  • 2 years post qualification experience in Midwifery

Asset Management Engineer

Purpose of the Role

To manage the assets and provide equipment performance to ensure safe, sustainable production.

Develops, coorinates and oversees Asset Management people, processes and systems.

Implementation of the Asset Management programme with a focus on people (buidling capacity and capability) and high-value processes.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Interprets operational requirements and integrates with discipline base financial needs to ensure availability of financial resources to meet business objectives
  • Builds up capacity and capability by assessing and improving skills and resourcing within the function
  • Coordinates and controls projects (in liaison with PMOs) by: Assessing proposed solutions; Coordinating, monitoring and advising on capital plans and expenditure; Managing projects risks
  • Develops medium/long term forecasts, maintenance plans and repair/overhaul plans
  • Ensures that upgrades and enhancements of equipment/machinery are performed effectively
  • Ensures top risks are identified and mitigations plans in place and reviewed periodically
  • Implements and improves Asset Management high value processes in line with the Asset Management programme: Defect Elimination, Work Management, Condition Monitoring, Contract Management
  • Integrates new equipment into existing infrastructures
  • Integrates overall mine and other departmental plans into maintenance plans
  • Manages equipment data (maintenance history, audits etc) throughout equipment life cycle
  • Oversees, coordinates and reviews the implementation of the Asset Management programme
  • Performs life cycle costing and equipment criticality classification exercises to assess best practices for: Replacement and inventory control; Service repair and reconditioning; Decommissioning and disposal
  • Provides engineering services to the operations
  • Pulls support from Reliability Engineers for: implementation of high-value processes; coaching on high value processes; performance measurement
  • Reviews maintenance contract within the business unit
  • Translates the Asset Management programme into concrete medium/long term initiatives
  • Identifies projects for implementing medium/long term solutions
  • Ensures the availability of performance reports and statistics
  • Ensures the risk log and scorecards are up-to-date
  • Updates departmental standards and procedures
  • Manages the training and development of all employees within the designated department
  • Ensures the training matrix is available and up-to-date
  • Ensures compliance with the overall divisional / business unit training plan
  • Manages subordinates key effectiveness areas by setting, monitoring and reviewing performance and taking remedial action as necessary
  • Implements knowledge management principles through application of tools and methodologies to continuously improve and sustain business performance

Education

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering

Experience

8 years post qualification engineering experience in heavy engineering post EIT programme with 3 years in a substantive mining inductry.
