FACULTY OF EDUCATION VACANCY NO. FE/MSE 2/2016: LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER IN COMPUTER STUDIES EDUCATION, DEPARTMENT OF MATHS AND SCIENCE EDUCATION (one position)

Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to: (i) Teach Computer Studies Education courses to undergraduate and graduate students; (ii) Supervise students’ research projects, theses and dissertations at both undergraduate and graduate levels; (iii) supervise students in internship (iv) Participate in the academic professional and community service normally associated with a University lectureship; (v) Undertake any other duties assigned by the Head of Department. Requirements: Lecturer: Candidates should (i) have a Master’s Degree in Computer Studies Education or equivalent; (ii) have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Studies Education with at least a 2.1 pass/GPA of at least 3.6 or equivalent; (iii) show evidence of engagement in research and service (iv) teaching Computer Studies education courses at university level or its equivalence and demonstration of effective leadership will be added advantages.

Senior Lecturer: Candidates should (i) have a Master’s Degree in Computer Studies Education or equivalent; (ii) have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Studies Education with at least a 2.1 pass/GPA of at least 3.6 or equivalent; (iii) have a minimum of three (3) years teaching experience at a university or comparable institution; (iv) a good and sustained record of research and publications with at least six (6) pieces of published research products at least 4 of which are refereed journal articles reflecting a spread of national regional and international journals and/or publishing outlets; (v) be a lead and/or single author in at least 2 refereed journal articles or book chapters;(vi) demonstrate evidence of service. A relevant PhD and demonstration of effective academic leadership will be added advantages. The curriculum vitae (CV) should contain a detailed list of publications; clearly specifying titles of publications, dates published, name(s) of publishers and name(s) of co-authors if any. Publications should be categorized into: books, monographs, refereed and non-refereed journals, chapters in books, etc.
