Medical Officer with the Research Group of Fetal and Neonatal Health under the Centre for Reproductive Health (Advertisement #06/14)

icddr,b invites applications from suitable Female candidates for the position of  Medical Officer with the Research Group of Fetal and Neonatal Health under the Centre for Reproductive Health. The appointment will be made on a Contractual Service Agreement (CSA) basis for  06 months, which may be extended for further period depending on availability of funds and satisfactory performance.

Duty Station –Field Sites.

Salary - Tk.76,136/-(consolidated)  per month inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances.  No other benefit is admissible.

Job Profile:

• Project Implementation: Monitor the project related activities and staff; Collect data from the previous record of the sub district and district level hospitals and NGOs; Clean data and code accordingly; Conduct interviews of the study mother after obtaining consent; Filled out the check list of normal and emergency obstetric care and neonatal care; Collect data of  pregnant women in sub district and district level hospitals and NGOs ; Maintain records of all research related data in appropriate forms; Monitor the data collection work, Supervise the activities of nurses in order to fulfill the study objectives.

• Knowledge Sharing: Provide  training to project staff and work with them for maintaining quality of project activities; Liaison and coordinate with GoB/MOHFW and other partners involved in the project implementation in order to share experience(s) and learning with team members.

• Professional Development: Attend all trainings and mentoring activities organized by icddr,b;  Develop and demonstrate interest in a particular specialty; Seek opportunities to be exposed to research activities of the Centre in order to continually developed and acquire new skills.

Requirements:

Education and Relevant Experience:

• MBBS with completed internship training;
• 3 years of experience in research project on Maternal and Neonatal health intervention.

Functional Competencies

• Knowledge on research methodologies and designs;
• Knowledge of data collection and analysis;
• Knowledge of Regulatory Compliances;
• Knowledge of Investigation and Analysis Tools and Techniques;
