icddr,b invites applications from suitable candidates (Staff
members & CSA holders) for the position of Project
Research Manager with the Matlab Community Health Research Branch under
the Centre for Reproductive Health. The appointment will
be made on a fixed-term basis for 1 year, which is renewable depending on
performance and availability of funds.
Duty station – Matlab.
Salary – Annual Tk.11,26,180/- inclusive of
house rent and conveyance allowances with other admissible benefits.
Benefits/facilities – 14.8% retirement fund
contribution by icddr,b, children allowance @Tk.1,420/- per child per month,

Job Profile:
- Strategic
and Local Level Planning: Devise draft draft work plan of the
health research/health service delivery programme; Coordinate with local
level concerns to understand the merits and demerits of the work plan
implementation; Submit final draft to Supervisor for review; Incorporate
changes for finalization; Secure approval on the final work plan for
implementation in order to achieve the highest result from the project.
- Project
Implementation: Organize and coordinate the planned activities
i.e. recruit required staff, provide logistics support; organize
qualitative data collection etc; Conduct follow up with project staff
members to understand issues and challenges; Provide one-on-one feedback
for staff development; Identify skill gaps and recommend refresher
training program; Design training programs as per needs i.e. identify
gaps, prepare budget, develop modules and schedule; Conduct training
programme; Participate in community based research/health service delivery
program; Reporting service and health indicators periodically to different
stakeholders within and outside of the centre;Share research findings with
national and international visitors; Establish an inbuilt system for
training and development of staff; Work intimately with different
stakeholders including the representatives from community, local NGOs and
the GoB related with the program in order to achieve the
planned objectives through implementation of the project.
- Resource
Management: Track deployment of field staff across projects;
Monitor project completion dates and expiry of staff contracts; Transfer
staff from one area to another based on project requirements; Conduct
performance evaluation of field staff; Administer and visit Principal
Investigator to seek staff feedback as per timelines; Facilitate meetings
to finalise ratings in case of discrepancies in feedback; Recommend high
potential staff for promotions (lateral / vertical) or transfer from short
term to fixed-term employment; Organize supplies/logistics of the project
i.e. transport, commodities in order to build a steady pipeline of
logistics and field staff available for project work.
- Monitoring,
Evaluation and Process Improvement: Develop MIS tools for
tracking work progress and reporting; Prepare checklist to assure quality
of data; Review ongoig tools aind recommend for improvement; Analyse
feedback and learning's from projects on management issues (e.g.
geographic considerations, timelines, challenges, demographic issues,
practical issues for timelines across all studies); Identify gaps and
areas of improvement; Discuss findings and share consolidated report with
PI; Propose recommendations for modification and secure approval (e.g.
checklist for protocol development, career planning process); Develop
guidelines for implementation and related communication material; Guide
team to implement changes; Trouble shoot issues in order to ensure
continuous progress monitoring and constantly improvise the project
implementation processes.
Requirements:
Education and Relevant Experience:
- MBBS
degree with completed internship training, MPH will be preferred;
- 05
years of experience in the field of neonatal, child, maternal health and
nutrition.
