OKAVANGO RESEARCH INSTITUTE (MAUN)

VACANCY NO: IRC 807 - RESEARCH/TEACHING ASSISTANT GIS/RS (Part-time) 2 year contract

Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to (i) assist researchers and students with Geographic Information Systems(GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS) applications, (ii) assist academic staff and graduate students with GIS/RS data production, acquisition and processing (iii) assist with GIS Laboratory tasks and perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements: Applicants must possess at least a BSc in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or an undergraduate degree where the applicant has completed at least 5 GIS/RS courses/modules. Preference will be given to those with demonstrable/hands-on experience in processing geospatial imagery and data.

Remuneration: This is a part time vacancy, working 20 hours per week. Remuneration is as per approved University of Botswana part time rates.
