Job Purpose
To maintain tools and equipment store in a neat and tidy
condition and to issue tools, equipment and consumables in accordance with
procedures
Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities
Compliance
- Works
within current compliance processes, systems and procedures and reports
shortcomings.
- Controls
access to the tool storeroom to ensure security of tools and equipment.
Client & Customer Management (Internal)
- Interacts
courteously to exchange information.
Inventory Management
- Files
and retrieves documents from established filing systems.
- Prepares
requisition orders for consumable spares in accordance with set inventory
levels and procedures.
- Maintains
a register of appliances, tools and equipment that have been issued and
returned to ensure availability.
Housekeeping
- Cleans
and maintains tool room in a tidy manner.
- Inspects
tools and equipment and reports on damages or missing tools and equipment
to the supervisor.
- Transfers
old equipment and tools to the external storage room,
- Repairs
minor defects on tools and appliances before issue.
Safety, Health, Environment
- Operates
in accordance with policies and rules, while performing routine safety
checks on own equipment and workspace.
- Contributes
to the development of risk assessments
Undertake such other related duties as directed by the
supervisor from time to time to meet the exigencies of the Corporation.
