NO: IRC 787 - MANAGER BUILDING SERVICES
Duties: The successful candidate will report
to the Deputy Director, Estate and Maintenance and will be expected to plan,
organize, develop, manage and control the provision of building and civil works
maintenance, estates and property maintenance management and infrastructure
project management, to optimise the cost effective utilization of available
resources, maximize the useful life of the University’s physical infrastructure
and maintain the University environs in a welt kept and tidy condition at all
times to enhance the aesthetic appearance of the institution.
Requirements: Applicants should have (i)
a Degree in building, civil engineering, construction management, estates
management or related area; (ii) at least two years managerial experience in
property maintenance and estates management in a major organisation with
extensive premises and range of physical mechanical and electrical plant (e.g.
air conditioning); (iii) experience in development of comprehensive planned
maintenance programs and audit maintenance would be an additional advantage;
(iv) Training in operations management, budgeting and cost control is
essential.
Competencies: Applicants must have leadership and
managerial skills; (ii) Organisational and communications skills and (iii)
Assertive, innovative and pro-active.
