DESCRIPTION

The position of Engineering Artisan (Electrician) necessitates a suitably qualified incumbent who will be required to maintain and assist in the operation of equipment and systems according to sound engineering practice and equipment specifications.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

The successful candidate will be required to:

• Planning of activities in accordance with production schedules and allocation of resources as required.
• Adherence to policies and procedures.
• Effective communication to relevant stakeholder to minimize production delays.
• Upholding of safety, health and environmental standards to achieve ZERO HARM.
• Training and development of subordinates.
• Ability to plan and excite projects.
• Maintenance and repairs of all electrical equipment in and around the pit and primary crusher specifically with regards to the following: cables, motors, generator sets, overhead cranes, conveyor belt components, VSD's, Simocodes.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience

• Grade 12 certificate or relevant NQF level qualification
• Relevant Trade Certificate (Electrical)
• Valid EB/Code 8 Drivers License
• 3 – 5 Years continuous experience in electrical maintenance
• Computer Literacy – MS Office Suite (Word/Excel/Power Point/Outlook)
• Valid EB/Code 8 Drivers License.
• Successfully obtain a Red Ticket (Medical Fitness certificate) on mine.

Skills/Competencies

Sound knowledge in the maintenance, repairs and fault finding of the following equipment:

• Motor protection systems
• Electrical safety and switching devices and practices
• Generators
• Pumps
• LT Substations
• Simocodes
• V.S.D.

Strong operating and troubleshooting skills, especially with regards to Electrical

Upholding of safety, health and environmental standards to achieve ZERO HARM by ensuring adherence to Security and SHE policies and procedures

Planning and control of maintenance schedules

Good communication skills (to line manager and electrical operatives)

High energy level and self-driven
