Assignment Duration:	Intermittent over a period of 36 months
Background:	The objective is to support the Client by establishing a Project Management Unit (PMU) for the Municipal Solid Waste Management (SWM) Programme which aims at the preparation and implementation of individual SWM projects with identified municipalities. The work of the PMU focuses on providing technical expertise at the national level with regard to the monitoring and supervision of the implementation of projects at the municipal level (tender procedures, activities in the municipalities etc.). The tasks furthermore include disseminating SWM knowledge through events and publications.
Job Description:	Overall coordination of the PMU activities including the technical inputs of short-term experts; Backstopping of the national coordinator’s as well as other experts’ work; Support and advise of the Client and the Client’s staff; Coordination of knowledge dissemination and trainings; Reporting on the Project’s progress.
Candidate's profile:	University degree in engineering, economics, municipal finance or equivalent; At least 15 years professional background; At least 5 projects as Team Leader in the environmental sector, preferably SWM; Strong managerial and proven capacity building competences; Very good communication skills in English; Working experience in the region (South Africa, Botswana, Namibia etc.); Experience as Team Leader in KfW projects would be an asset.
