Context

The UN Volunteer will be placed with UNICEF in Delhi. The UNV will support programme monitoring, reporting, data analysis and communication with internal staff and with key partners including the Government of India and other UN agencies.

Task description

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of Chief M4R or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the NUNV Results Analyst will: • Support in quality assuring indicator metadata of results framework of all the sections in coordination with the designated officials across sections and department. • Coordinate and support in the management of UNICEF India’s internal MISs for monitoring and reporting on UNICEF Programme results through regular troubleshooting to fix any bugs, responding to staff issues and queries during reporting and providing status updates, as necessary; • Support in quality assurance of MoVs (Means of Verification), reported data for COVID reporting, mid and end year reporting ; • Prepare required documentations, conduct data analysis to facilitate planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting; • Support the annual and mid-year review process and workplan development, particularly on data quality assurance and the use of the internal systems; • Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.

Required experience

3 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation, particularly on data analysis and visualization at the national and/or international level ; • Good understanding of quantitative methods; • Experience using software like PowerBI, Infogram, Tableau is an asset; • Proficient in Computer Skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint) • Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills; • Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing; • Excellent team player, good interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners, including grassroots community members, religious and youth organizations, and authorities at different levels; familiarity with tools and approaches of communications for development; • Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; should be a team player and possess the ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel; • Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet; familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment; • Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines.

Living conditions and remarks

The duty station will be Delhi, India. New Delhi and the surrounding National Capital Region is a large and bustling metropolis of some 14 million people undergoing rapid changes. The capital city is an administrative, cultural and commercial centre with modern amenities and well connected by air. It is a safe place with large expatriate community drawn from embassies, UN agencies, MNCs and foreign businesses. It has short moderate winter and long hot summer. As this is a national UN Volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials. This position is based in Delhi. National UN Volunteers are part of the malicious insurance plan. National UN Volunteers are expected to be culturally sensitive and adjust to the prevailing culture and traditions. The contract lasts for the period indicated above with possibility of extensions subject to availability of funding, operational necessity and satisfactory performance. However, there is no expectation of renewal of the assignment. The applicable Volunteer Living Allowance is provided monthly to cover housing, utilities and normal cost of living expenses. Life, health and permanent disability insurance are included (health insurance for up to 3 dependents - except for UN Community Volunteers), as well as final repatriation (if applicable).
