SENIOR LECTURER/LECTURER IN FILM/VIDEO AND/OR TELEVISION BROADCASTING (2 YEAR CONTRACT)

Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to: (i) teach undergraduate level courses in television broadcasting and/or digital video/film production; (ii) supervise undergraduate students projects as necessary; (iii) participate in all academic and professional activities of the department including research; (iv) carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department.

Requirements:

Senior Lecturer: Applicants should have: (i) at least a Master’s Degree in  Media Studies or related field; (ii) a relevant Bachelor’s Degree with at least a 2(i) pass/GPA of at least 3.6 or equivalent; (iii) at least 3 years of teaching experience at a university or comparable institution; (iv) a good and sustained record of research and publications with at least 6 publications, 4 of which should be refereed journal articles reflecting a spread of national, regional and international journals and/or publishing outlets; and (v) lead and/or single author in at least 2 refereed journal articles or book chapters. Applicants should also demonstrate evidence of engagement in service. A relevant PhD and evidence of effective academic leadership will be added advantages. The curriculum vitae (CV) should contain a detailed list of published works, clearly specifying titles of publications, dates published, names of publishers, names of co-authors if any and number of pages. The publications should be categorised into: books, monographs, chapters in books, refereed and non-refereed journals, consultancies etc. The CV should also have a detailed list of courses taught and the levels for which they were taught.

Lecturer: Applicants should have: (i) at least a Master’s Degree in Media Studies or related field; (ii) a relevant Bachelor’s Degree with at least a 2(i) pass/GPA of at least 3.6 or equivalent. Applicants should also show evidence of engagement in research and service. A relevant PhD, teaching experience at a University or comparable institution and evidence of effective academic leadership will be added advantages.
