VACANCY NO. FET/A&P  5/2018: ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/SENIOR LECTURER IN ARCHITECTURE, DEPARTMENT OF ARCHITECTURE AND PLANNING

Duties:  The successful candidate would be expected to: (i) teach undergraduate and post graduate courses in Architecture; (ii) Supervise research projects; (iii) initiate, promote and participate in research; (iv) provide academic leadership through programme development and research; (v) act as a mentor to junior academic staff; (vi) participate in all academic and professional service activities of UB, the Faculty and the Department/programme; (vii) carry out any other responsibilities as and when assigned by the Head of Department.

Requirements:  Associate Professor: Candidates must possess: (i) a five-year Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch) or equivalent professional degree(s) in Architecture, (ii) A post Professional Masters Degree in Architecture; (iii) a minimum of five (5) years teaching or teaching equivalent experience at a university or comparable institution; (iv) minimum of twelve (12) pieces of published research products, at least eight (8) of which are refereed journal articles; (v) be the lead and or single author in at least six (6) of the refereed journal articles or book chapters; (vi) evidence of service to the University, the Profession and the Community; (vii) evidence of effective academic leadership; (viii) be registered or eligible for registration with a professional body. A PhD in Architecture or a cognate subject, will be an added advantage.

Senior Lecturer: Candidates must possess: (i) a five-year Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch) or equivalent professional degree(s) in Architecture with at least 2(i) pass/GPA of at least 3.6 or equivalent; (ii) A post Professional Masters Degree in Architecture; (iii) a minimum of three (3) years teaching experience at a university or comparable institution; (iv) minimum of six (6) pieces of published research products, at least four (4) of which are refereed journal articles; (v) Should be the lead and or single author in at least two (2) of the refereed journal articles or book chapters; (vi) evidence of engagement in service; (vii) be registered or eligible for registration with a professional body. A PhD in Architecture or a cognate subject, will be an added advantage.
