MAINTENANCE COORDINATOR - ELECTRICAL

Job Summary:
To perform effective planned maintenance and repairs to the whole of Morupule Coal Mine production machinery and utilities.

Key Activities:

• Assists Maintenance Engineer with R&M annual budget setting.
• Develops daily, weekly, monthly maintenance plans with Planner, Engineer and Production using approved CMMS.
• Ensures a high standard of Housekeeping.
• Manages Spares [critical spares] in the electrical workshop.
• Manages and ensures quality work output.
• With the approval of the Engineer – carries out machinery modifications.
• Assists with breakdowns and after hours call outs.
• Manpower management.
• Carries out breakdown evaluation.
• Keeps Engineer up to date with day to day occurrences etc.
• Adheres to and promotes Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures.
• Draws up all schedules for production machines.
• Performs and draws up a lubrication schedule.
• Plans of daily, weekly, monthly maintenance with Engineer and production.
• Ensures a high standard of Housekeeping.
• Manages Spares in terms of electrical and mechanical [ critical spares]
• Follows an approved CMMS.
• Manages and ensures quality work output.
• With the approval of the Engineer – carries out machinery modifications.
• Adheres to all Safety Health and Environmental policies and procedures in area of responsibility.

Requirements

Minimum Education, Training & Experience Requirements

• NCC or N5-6 Electrical Certificate or Diploma
• 8 years’ experience as an Artisan in a heavy industry preferably Mining.
• Valid light duty Drivers licence.
• Knowledge of SHE management systems (ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001)

Technical Knowledge

• Electrical installations and PLC’s.
• Good knowledge of VFDs, Simocodes, HT Power Circuits, and Electro-hydraulic circuits.
• Mining equipment electrical installations.
• Hands on assisting Artisans when needed.
