DIRECTOR, HUMAN RESOURCES



The University of Botswana seeks to recruit a Director in the Human Resource Department to plan, organize, manage and coordinate the provision of Human Resource Management.

Key Performance Areas

• Ensure that vacancies are filled expeditiously.

• Review and update Human Resource policies and procedures.

• Effective management of grievances and disputes.

• Compliance with terms and conditions of employment and laid down Human Resource procedures.

• Prudent management of the Human Resource budget.

• Maintenance of accurate Human Resource statistics and forecasts.

Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to play a key role in the Management and Development of Human Resources in the University. This includes the formulation and implementation of Human Resources Strategies and Policies, management of Industrial Relations, Training and Development and providing services and professional advice that will ensure that the University is staffed with appropriately qualified, experienced, productive, and motivated personnel in all areas. The Director shall be responsible for the overall management of the Human Resources Department.

Requirements:
 Applicants should have: (i) minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences or related areas; (ii) Candidates with a Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related areas may have an edge; (iii) at least seven years work experience in Human Resource Management at a senior level; (iv) detailed knowledge and experience in Botswana's Labour law and practice; (v) strong interpersonal, communications and leadership skills; (vi) an innovative management style.
