Main Purpose of the Job:
- Weather
and climate data analysis for trend and extreme events detection.
- Develop
and contribute to methodologies to forecast the impact of research for
development on development outcomes and impacts.
- Write
policy briefs.
- Develop
research concept notes and proposals for seeking external research
funding.
Education:
- BSc
in Environmental Science and Mathematics is required.
Essential Skills and Experience:
No experience is required, but prior research exposure in
the following areas will be of added advantage:
- Recent
experience in trend analysis and simulation modeling, leveraging on
statistical concepts and climatology.
- Hands
on experience in uncertainty quantification in climate prediction.
- Working
knowledge of a programming language on a Linux platform.
REMUNERATION
BITRI offers attractive working conditions and remuneration
commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position is on five (5)
years fixed term contracts of employment.
