BUSINESS ANALYST X2
Botswana Life Insurance seeks a dynamic hands-on individual
for the position of a Business Analyst in Gaborone-Head Office to support
financial applications and interfaces between the Life administration system
and financial applications. The role of Business Analyst is to conduct analysis
of business financial processes and alignment to the broader insurance
processes and user needs in order to document and develop requirements for the
implementation or revision of processes for business unit. The incumbent will
map, design and document processes and make appropriate recommendations that
will positively impact operational effectiveness.
Requirements
Key Performance Areas
Works closely with the business partners to identify and
maximize opportunities to optimize business processes and use information
technology to improve operational efficiency.
Reviews, analyzes, and creates detailed documentation of business systems and user needs, including workflow, data flow diagrams and program functions
Coordinates the development of all approved versions of business and functional specifications for specified applications.
Reviews technical documents and ensure business requirements are adequately reflected in technical planning documents.
Develops and implements quality assurance practices and procedures, end user test plans and other QA assessments.
Ensures continuing operational quality by documenting bug fixes and enhancements assigning tasks to developers, testing and releasing updates.
Proactively assists with the identification of training and development requirements of the Business Unit.
Engaging colleagues and clients/users to investigate and model business functions, processes, information flows and data structures, using methodical and consistent techniques.
Education

Education
A Degree in Engineering or Business analytical related field
with experience in business analysis, design, and quality assurance, any
experience or exposure to insurance industry will be an added advantage.
Working Experience:
6 years post qualification experience of which 3 must have
been at supervisory level.
Skills & Competencies
ICT Skills:
Oracle Applications financials certification and experience.
PL/SQL programming.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications.
Knowledge of MS Project.
Knowledge in Microsoft Visio or any other process mapping and modelling tools.
Proven success in the following job competencies:
