ACCOUNTANT - CASHBOOK AND EXPENDITURE - IDM GABORONE CAMPUS


Job description

IDM has shaped the futures of many Batswana with Executive Development courses and long-term training and continues to achieve its mandate through helping the public and private sector organisations to meet their management needs through training, consultancy, and research services. IDM has operations in Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland. The Botswana office has campuses in Gaborone and Francistown.

Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for the maintenance of cash books and expenditure including payroll administration. The individual will ensure completeness of documentation required for processing payments.
Review payment documentation from debtors to ensure accuracy and that expenditures are authorized
Maintain proper accounting records, and ensure proper accounting control procedures are in place
Ensure proper recording of transactions and monitor payments
Reconcile payments and produce monthly reports
Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
Maintain fixed asset register and ensure accurate reflection of asset movement

Requirements

At least a degree in Accounting or Finance or a part professional qualification from a recognised institution or any other equivalent qualification acceptable to IDM
A minimum of 7 years’ experience in financial management and/or accounting. Significant working exposure in an education/training environment is essential. The candidate should have at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
