Position Summary
Futures Group seeks a consultant to support the end-line evaluation of the STEPS OVC program in Zambia through secondary data analysis. The purpose of this consultancy is to gather information on the HIV/AIDS situation in Zambia at the national and subnational level, including HIV and STI prevalence, risk behaviors, preventive behaviors, and access to and uptake of services, and triangulate this information to portray the relationships between HIV prevalence and mitigating factors. The Period of Performance is: February 15th through May 15th, 2014. Level of effort is 45 days.
Key Responsibilities
• Systematically capture and synthesize all available epidemiologic, behavioral, research and census data
• Draft a report summarizing and showcasing data from all sources, making appropriate use of tables, graphs, using the baseline triangulation report as a guide
• Highlight any geographic and technical areas where data are lacking and where future research could help answer the question more thoroughly
• Present this report to Futures Group for review, and then finalize following discussion

Qualifications
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree in relevant field strongly preferred.
• Considerable experience synthesizing data from large datasets. Experience working with DHS datasets preferred.
• Expertise in performing basic statistics.
• Evidence of skills in report writing, and generating tables and charts.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Candidate must exhibit strong accountability and ability to work independently
• Current Zambian residents with ability to travel throughout Zambia strongly preferred.
