PURPOSE OF POSITION:

iVision is a Partnership solution for the medium sized support offices (fundraising offices). It is an integrated suite of software with many components, including Marketing, Customer Service, Child Data Management, Donor Management, Fund Accounting, optional General Ledger and donor facing web portal and web services. This system is currently in production in 5 European and 5 Asian countries that were using outdated SIMMA system.

The iVision Project is a 5-year project, which is coming to its transition into Support phase that started on October 1, 2013 and is expected to last at least another 5 years.

In Hong Kong iVision implementation is expected to be very complex due to numerous country specific requirements, multi-currency and multi-language business environment, unique features of the current CRM system and size of the office operations. Therefore the project requires a dedicated project manager to ensure delivery of iVision to the World Vision Hong Kong (WVHK) on time.

As part of the Global iVision Team, this position will report to the iVision Project Director and will be primarily responsible for successful completion of iVision project in WV Hong Kong.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Management (PM):
  • Leads, coaches, develops and enables an implementation sub-team to effectively implement the system and deliver quality support to the customers.
  • Plans and manages dependencies between project resources available for implementation.
  • Ensures consistency of project management processes and standards through project life span.
  • Ensures PM best practices, knowledge and skills are translated into project’s day-by-day quality operations.
  • Leads regular tracking and proactive analysis of the implementation sub - team’s progress against its scope and project plans; ensures regular feedback is provided to the team, and the implementation sub-team addresses issues identified.
  • Manages project change control processes applied to implementation.
  • Ensures and leads appropriate risk analysis of the system implementation; escalates major risks to the Project Director in timely manner
Communications and Information Management:
  • Builds working relationships and effective communication with WVHK, vendors, and the rest of the iVision team.
  • Ensures smooth and appropriate information exchange related to the system implementation within the project team and with WVHK.
  • Ensures effective collection and processing of project progress data; develops and submits regular implementation progress reports to the Project Director.
  • Supports Project Director in providing reports to the Hong Kong Project Business Sponsors and iVision Steering Committee.

Capacity Building and Learning:
  • Ensures that lessons learnt are captured and contribute to continuous improvements in the project team’s performance.
  • Influence and support colleagues on the project team in their professional development.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Required:
  • Bachelor degree in project management, or bachelor degree in management, business administration or IT with substantial postgraduate training in project management.
  • 5+ years of project management experience in IT.
  • Working experience in an international environment (especially in Chinese-speaking countries).
  • Experience in managing geographically distributed project team to achieve results.
  • Experience, ability and skills to build effective communication with peers and customers, overcome resistance and influence decisions.
  • Experience and skills in change management.

Preferred:
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Well-developed abilities in solving complex project issues.
  • Ability to work with a virtual implementation team including working in different time zones and locations as required.
  • Experience on a project in non-governmental organisation ideally in a World Vision Support Office.
  • Experience in working in a project team implementing Microsoft NAV solution.
  • Experience in working with vendors.
