International Co-Teamleader/Senior TVET Consultant , Egypt, Long Term

IP NIRAS has been commissioned to implement consulting services for the Integrated Technical Educational Cluster (ITEC) at the City of Assuit, Egypt. In this context, IP Consult is looking for an International Co-Teamleader/Senior TVET Consultant (based in Cairo).

The project tasks are related to (a) vocational/technical education and training planning, (b) rehabilitation and construction planning/supervision and (c) equipment specification and procurement as well as (d) HRD, especially teacher training.

You will be fully supported by IP NIRAS, an internationally experienced consulting company and a German State Academy for Teacher Training providing an extended pool of short term experts.

As international co–team leader you will closely cooperate with the Egyptian Director and be responsible to:

1. Accompany the setting up of an Integrated Technical Education Cluster (ITEC) in such a way that it is able to offer quality training and education in the fields of engineering electrical, mechanical, automotive and construction disciplines which are required by the market; 
2. Foster the cooperation between labor markets/employers and the cluster center and other stakeholders pertinent in the area (i.e. chambers or associations); 
3. Support all center related planning tasks (market assessment, capacity and staff planning, equipment planning, internships, PPP etc.) 
4. Support the designing, tendering and supervising of the rehabilitation / construction of TVET related buildings and liaise with architects and construction engineers;
5. Support the identification of the needs of the center regarding equipment, hand tools, furniture and vehicles and to tender, procure locally and internationally and install the technical equipment. 
6. Supporting the center in carrying out special tasks such as revising curricula, identifying new occupational needs and organizing tracer studies; 
7. Identify and procure teaching and learning materials for training of students and training of technical teachers.

• Solid engineering background combined with experience in teaching and training (Berufspädagoge)
• Excellent knowledge of the German technical education system
• Good reporting skills
• Fluency in spoken and written English
• Proficient user of MS Office and related programs
• Knowledge of Arabic language will be an asset

• 10 - 20 years of working experience
• Substantial project management experience
• Experience in school planning and organizational development
• Experience in handling project budgets and funds according to standards
• Working experience in Arabic countries will be an advantage
• Intercultural sensibility
• Competences to lead and motivate multi-disciplinary and multi-ethnic teams to built up a new institution successfully

Assignment duration

24 months full time, extension possible.

Remuneration

Competitive international salary, working contract according to German standards with full social insurance is possible.
