CA Global Headhunters is currently assisting a major company
operating within the Freight and Logistics sector in Mozambique. The position
is Finance Accountant and leads all efforts in the area of finance and
accounting.
The employee is expected to demonstrate the following behaviours at all times; display the highest levels of responsibility and accountability, diligent with strong attention to detail, good understanding of business as well as financial issues, sound decision making, up to date knowledge of accounting regulations and would have a pro-active management style.
Responsibilities:
Providing management with financial information and the interpretation thereof.
Ensuring the organization's compliance to local legislation and all relevant compliance issues.
Cash management and treasury duties - Managing the accounting and monitoring systems for the organization's finances.
Maintenance of financial ledgers and accounting processes
Preparation of VAT returns; bank and balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and prepayments, audits and year end statutory accounts
Support month-end and year-end close process
Coordinate and direct the preparation and the management of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
Overseeing the Payroll process
Maintaining adequate insurance cover for the organization's assets and other mandatory insurance cover.
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
Degree in Financial Management/Accounting
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
Experience with creating financial statements
Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Products; and most especially competent on Excel
Fluent in English and Portuguese
