Cape Mental Health: Assistant General Manager

Cape Mental Health is a nonprofit organisation that offers a comprehensive mental health service in the Cape Peninsula.

Cape Mental Health seeks to appoint a highly motivated and dynamic person as Assistant General Manager for its Training Workshops Unlimited providing services to adults with intellectual disability, based in Cape Town.

Responsibilities:

  • Implementation of the TWU Balanced Score Card and Key Performance Indicators on an operational level.
  • Management of Training Workshops Unlimited on an operational level (consisting of 4 Protective Workshops offering a Training and Career Path to adults with Intellectual Disability).
  • Leading and management of the TWU Seniors ( workshop managers )  at our different workshops
  • Active participation in the  TWU Management Team
  • Networking and liaison
  • Deputise for General Manager if and when required
  • Reporting to the assigned  General Manager
Requirements:
  • Minimum of five years management experience– preferably in the disability/NGO sector;
  • Extensive knowledge of intellectual disability and protective workshops;
  • Degree/diploma in occupational therapy, Human Resources  or Social Science;
  • Experience in liaison with SETA’s and the implementation of learnerships/internships;
  • Strong focus on training and development  with good experience in business processes, entrepreneurial development and sales and marketing;
  • Creative thinking and problem solving skills;
  • Code 08 manual drivers  licence;
  • Excellent verbal and written skills;
  • Computer literate;
  • Proficient in English and Afrikaans.
