ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/ SENIOR LECTURER/ LECTURER IN HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT

Associate Professor
Duties: The successful candidate is expected to (i) make a significant contribution to research, teaching, curriculum development and community service activities of the Department; (ii) teach Hospitality courses at Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels; (iii) act as a mentor to junior academic staff; (iv) initiate, develop and establish research programs in Hospitality with other Departmental staff members; (v) raise/solicit research funds from funding agencies within and outside the country; (vi) assist and guide M.Phil and PhD students in their research; (vii) carry out any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Head of Department.

Requirements: Candidates must have: (i) at least a Masters’ Degree in Hospitality Management or related fields; (ii) hold the position of Associate Professor in Hospitality Management or at least 5 years teaching experience at a University or comparable institution; (iii) an excellent, cumulative and sustained record of research and publications in Hospitality Management with at least 12 publications, 8 of which are peer reviewed journal papers; lead and/or single authored in at least refereed journal articles or book chapters; (iv) evidence of service to the University, the Profession and the Community; (vii) evidence of effective academic leadership; (vii) a relevant PhD and the ability, reflected in the profile, to attract funding from International sources will be added advantages. The curriculum vitae (CV) should contain a detailed list of publications; clearly specifying titles of publications, dates published, name(s) of publishers and name(s) of co-authors if any. Publications should be categorized into: books, monographs, refereed and non-refereed journals, chapters in books, etc.

Senior Lecturer/ Lecturer
Duties: The candidate will be expected to: (i) teach and research in any area of Hospitality; (ii) participate in the academic and professional activities of the Department; (iii) carry out any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Head of Department. 

Requirements:
Senior Lecturer: Candidates must have: (i) at least a Masters’ Degree in Hospitality Management or related fields; (ii) a Bachelors’ Degree in ­Hospitality Management or related fields with at least a 2(i) pass/ GPA of at least 3.6; (iii) at least 3 years of teaching experience at a University or comparable institution; (iv) a good and sustained record of research and publications with at least 6 publications, 4 of which are peer reviewed journal articles; (v) lead and/or single author in at least 2 refereed journal articles or book chapters; (vi) applicants should demonstrate evidence of service; (v) a relevant PhD and  demonstration of effective academic leadership will be added advantages. The curriculum vitae (CV) should contain a detailed list of publications; clearly specifying titles of publications, dates published, name(s) of publishers and name(s) of co-authors if any. Publications should be categorized into: books, monographs, refereed and non-refereed journals, chapters in books, etc.

Lecturer: Applicants must have: (i) at least a Masters’ Degree in Hospitality Management or related fields; (ii) a Bachelors’ Degree in the relevant discipline with at least 2.1 pass/ GPA of at least 3.6; (iii) show evidence of engagement in research and service; (iv) teaching experience at a University or comparable institution, demonstration of effective academic leadership, certified qualification on culinary skills and hospitality information systems will be added advantages.
