Technical Officer : HIV Prevention Implementation and Evaluation (Gert Sibande, Mpumalanga South Africa)

Support the formulation and implementation of the technical strategy in alignment with overall programme and organizational strategy

Key Responsibilities

• Support the development of a comprehensive implementation strategy for the sexual HIV prevention programme.
• Coach and train district and sub-district staff members in your technical area to ensure transfer of knowledge
• Facilitate skills transfer to DOH counterparts
• Provide support to ensure service delivery to DOH (district and sub-district level)
• Identify operational research questions in the specialist area
• Design and implement research activities
• Ensure appropriate communication/feedback of the research findings to the relevant stakeholders
• Support the production of publications and/or reports relating to the operational research and programme area
• Participate in organizational research meetings

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Degree in a related field
• 3 Year’s minimum experience working in the relevant field
• Experience with donor driven programmes in the South African market.
• Experience in training and capacity building.
• Knowledge of national, provincial and district health structures.
• Experience in project management
• Able to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
• Adaptable, willing to take initiative
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills
• Willingness and ability to travel within South Africa
• Fluency in English is required, Fluency in key South African languages is a plus
