Overview of role
To provide strategic leadership in all
academic faculties, i.e core academic portfolios. Such leadership will
be in a manner consistent with quality of service, value for money and
stakeholders expectations. In essence the purpose of the job is viewed
as a role at the most senior executive level to advise the Executive
Director accordingly.
Job description
This strategic role with scholarly and
entrepreneurial intent has the authority for all academic functions of
the college and provides leadership for all academic and faculty
matters. The Deputy Executive Director (Academic Affairs) will have a
rich but overarching portfolio covering Academic Matters and Student
Affairs. The scope of the role and key performance areas are largely at a
strategic level with significant academic operations oversight
responsibilities. The coordination of teaching, research, faculty
recruitment, assessment and development and budget administration are
included.
Requirements, Education and Experience
Key competencies include leadership
qualities, business management flair, ability to establish and build
relationships, analytical ability and creativity. These will be
complemented with your in-depth knowledge of curriculum development and
practices associated with technology and research.
You must have a PhD with at least 10 years senior management experience in an academic institution, preferably a business school.
