Office/Unit/Project Description
The Technical Secretariat of UNPRPD MPTF is based in the
UNDP Governance team in the Bureau of Policy and Programme Support. The UNPRPD
Technical Secretariat operates in accordance with the UNPRPD Strategic
Operational Framework 2020–2025 and agreed annual work plan developed following
strategic direction from the Policy Board and upon approval by the Management
Committee.
With over 40 active programmes yearly the UNPRPD FUND is
working towards improving the way in which programmes are designed and results
monitored and captured in line with its new logframe.
While the UNPRPD operates worldwide, the Indo Pacific has
been an area of significant investment. The Fund has worked in 15 countries in
the Asia Pacific both through country and multicounty programs in the Pacific
Islands. In 2023 the the Fund will launch 10 new programmes in the Pacific
Islands in addition to the ongoing programmes is Fiji and Cook Islands.
Tailored capacity to support countries is required to ensure
programmes comply with quality assurance standards alongside with ensuring
alignment with regional stretgicies and priorities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Programme Management and coordination
- Support
overall coordination of multi country programme in the region
- Act as
regional focal point and main partners interface for UNPRPD in the Pacific
- Support
RCOs, MCOs and implementing agencies in coordination activities, including
monitoring and reporting
- Report
to UNPRPD TSon progress and challenges
Technical Guidance
- Supporting
countries to carry out Situational Analysis
- Oversee
Situational Analysis process ensuring high quality data gathering
- Support
update of Situational Analysis guidance
- Deliver
online webinars for programme teams
- Provide
tailored assistance to country teams - Review and suggest revision to
situational analysis drafts
- Develop
regional analysis and thematic analysis based on findings of reports
- Draft
country briefs and validate with countries
- Support
countries in carrying out multi stakeholder trainings
- Develop
report on multi stakeholder training
- Support
design and validation of joint programmes
Partnership engagement
- Engage
with PDF and regional partners ensuring their meaningful participation in
the programme
- Monitor
and report on main donors priorities in the region and ensure UNPRPD
alignment with regional strategies
- Support
multistakeholder processes and identify opportunities of collaboration
Cross country learning
- Develpp
regional briefs
- Identify
opportunities for cross country exchanges in the region
- Establish
knowledge exchange mechanisms
Institutional Arrangement
The will be reporting to the programme coordinator and work
closely with TS team as needed.
