Mission and objectives
Jordan Country Office (JCO) has ongoing activities to
deliver humanitarian response for all children within the country. One of the
key areas of intervention is the timely delivery of supplies that are supported
by the Supply and logistics Section. There is significant growth and demand for
services and supplies from all program and operations sections. The section at
the moment is understaffed and requires the temporary support of an additional
Supply Assistant, to perform administrative support to ensure the smooth
running of the section and ultimately contribute to the overall programmatic
objectives of the office. The deployment of a National UN Youth Volunteer would
be an ideal opportunity to support the administrative activities and to ensure
completeness and adequacy of supporting activities/documents.
Context
The assigned UN Volunteer will work in close collaboration
with the Contract Specialist and Supply and Logistics Manager to exchange
information and ensure consistent service delivery. Additional information:

Task description
Under the direct supervision of the Supply and Logistics
Manager, UN Volunteer will support a range of activities related to the supply
chain. Below is the list of tasks to be performed in full compliance with the
UNICEF rules, regulations, and procedures: - Provide administrative support to
the Supply and Logistics Section and work in close collaboration with the
Programme Sections, as per the guidance received from the Supply and Logistics
Manager - Assist and administrative support with RFQ/ITB/RFP tenders and
arrange for meetings with vendors as required. - Assist with the administration
work for establishment LTAs. - Support the sections of JCO and the RO with
hotel reservations and administration arrangements for workshops, conferences,
meetings, etc - Assist with several reports such as LTAs, contracts, Purchase
Orders (POs), OSC, etc. Regularly extracts dashboard reports and coordinates to
ensure necessary supply action is taken in a timely manner in support of UNICEF
Programmes. - Update and maintain electronic filing for the necessary
procurement and logistics documents for RFQ/ITB/RFP tenders, LTAs, CRC, NFR,
Report, etc., and store them in the relevant shared point - Any other clerical
duties assigned by the supervisor.

Required experience
2 years of experience in administrative experience is
required at the national or international level. - Understands the main processes
and methods of work regarding the position. - Possesses knowledge of
organizational policies and procedures relating to the position and applies
them consistently in work tasks (Supply and procurement). - Strives to keep job
knowledge up-to-date through self-directed study and other means of learning. -
Demonstrates good knowledge of information technology and applies it in work
assignments. - Demonstrates in-depth understanding and knowledge of the current

Living conditions and remarks
Amman, the capital, is a peaceful city with over four
million residents. People are friendly to visitors. Services in terms of
banking, transportation, health and communications are easily available. Though
Arabic is the official language, English is widely spoken among the majority of
the population, especially in Amman. Road network is good both in terms of
spread and quality of the roads. Public transportation in Amman is limited. Taxis
are relatively cheap and easily available. There are a number of shopping
malls, restaurants, gyms, and cinemas. A large variety of accommodation options
can be found; however, it is worth noting that prices in Amman have generally
increased in the past few years. There are no specific security threats. Amman
is a very easy city in which to live; large, many amenities, very modern and
serviced by an international airport with direct flights to most capital
cities. According to the assessment of the UN Department of Safety &
Security (UNDSS) Jordan is a family duty station (category A hardship). As this
is a national UN Volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for
arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials. National UN Volunteers
are part of the insurance plan.
