Mission and objectives
The World Health Organization serves as the directing and
coordinating authority for public health within the United Nations system. WHO
seeks to promote health, ensure everyone can attain the highest level of
health, keep the world safe and serve the vulnerable through partnerships,
people and countries.
Context
This UNV assignment is part of WHO Regional Office for the
Eastern Mediterranean Office’s Planning, Budget, Monitoring and Evaluation
(PME) team’s scope of work to support operational planning, performance
monitoring, reporting, and evaluation.
Task description
Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of
the Technical officer, Performance Monitoring & Assessment or his
designate, the UN Volunteer will: • Support the Regional operational planning
exercise for 2024-2025 ensuring results-based planning; • Assist in WHO
end-of-biennium performance assessment for 2022-2023 ensuring results were
delivered as planned and quality reports are submitted on time; • Support
technical monitoring of WHO’s deliverables in EMR countries and use of
information for decision making; • Assist in the submission of quality donor
technical reports on thematic funds; • Support the development and
implementation of regional and country evaluation work-plans; • Support
management of new and ongoing evaluations in the region, including both
corporate and decentralized evaluations; • Assist in organizing PME monitoring
& evaluation capacity enhancement activities across budget centers at
regional office and country offices; • Assist in M&E-related meetings,
briefings, workshops, and other events facilitated by PME; • Any other related
tasks (administrative and/or technical) as may be required or assigned by the
supervisor.

country of assignment.
Requirements
Required experience
5 years of experience in of combined professional M&E
work experience at the national and/or international level in programme
management, monitoring, reporting and evaluation. Experience working for an
organization implementing a results-based management approach is highly
desirable. • Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting,
formulation, reporting skills. • Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and
socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a
range of partners; familiarity with tools and approaches of communications for
development; • Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a
challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of
international and national personnel; • Solid overall computer literacy,
including high-level proficiency in various Microsoft Office applications such
as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; familiarity with database management; and other
office technology equipment; • Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum
supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines; • Have affinity with or
interest in public health, volunteerism as a mechanism for durable development,
and the UN System.

long been a center of the region’s political and cultural life, with high

facilities, cultural events, etc. The Arab Republic of Egypt has a unique
geographical position in Northeast Africa, at the crossroads of Europe and
Asia, on the Mediterranean and Red Sea, and its connection to Sub Saharan
Africa through the Nile Valley. UN International Specialist Volunteer gets the
following package: • Volunteer Living Allowance (around USD 2218.6/Month) •
