Context
The NUNV will be based in Aden and will be supervised by the
PSF’s Project Manager.
Task description
The role of the NUNV Monitor and Evaluation is monitoring
smaller intervention as part of the PSF Small Grant Mechanism. This includes
following day-today operations of the NGOs and monitoring their implementation
of agreed activities; review of progress reports against monitoring and
evaluation matrixes; recommendations on future programmatic activities;
briefing of steering committee; identification of scalabilities and human
impact stories for publication; In additions to the tasks described above, the
I-UNV should dedicate a part of their working time to some of the following
suggested activities: - Strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the concept
of volunteerism by reading relevant UNV and external publications and taking
active part in UNV activities (for instance in events that mark International
Volunteer Day); - Be acquainted with and build on traditional and/or local
forms of volunteerism in the host country. - Provide annual and
end-of-assignment self-reports on UN Volunteer actions, results and
opportunities. – Contribute articles/write-ups on field experiences and submit
them for UNV publications/websites, newsletters, press releases, etc.;
Results/expected outputs: - As an active UNDP team member, efficient, timely,
responsive, client-friendly and high-quality support rendered to [UNDP] and its
beneficiaries in the accomplishment of her/his functions, including: - It is
expected that this assignment would contribute to the enhancement of the
project’s activity monitoring and reporting. - Provide insight to the project
team on the quality of the implementation the impact of the activities, lessons
learned, and key achievements. - Enhance the relationship with the
counterparts, beneficiaries, and stakeholders.

Requirements
Required experience
3 years of experience in development project management and
Monitoring and Evaluation is an asset, as is experience working in the UN or
other international development organization; -Monitors, analyzes and reports
from a gender perspective factors; -Ability to use gender sensitive language
and familiarity with the UNDP Gender Marker. -Excellent oral and written
skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills; -Accuracy and
professionalism in document production and editing; -Excellent interpersonal
skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and
collaboratively with a range of partners, including grassroots community
members, religious and youth organizations, and authorities at different
levels; familiarity with tools and approaches of communications for
development; -Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a
challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of
international and national personnel;

Living conditions and remarks
As this is a national UN Volunteer assignment, the UN
Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other
living essentials. National UN Volunteers are part of the malicious insurance
plan.
