The Operational Analysis and Technology Centre (OATC) provides ICT services for Supply Division (SD) to support UNICEF global supply chain operations. The services portfolio include requirements analysis, design, develop and implement solutions in the Logistics application area of SAP, develop interfaces between SAP and external systems and provide operational level 2 support.

How can you make a difference?

Summary of key functions/accountabilities:

  • Working with the systems analyst, conduct analysis of business requirements and develop solutions using ABAP Development tools, adhering to the UNICEF development standards. Perform code review and maintain proper functional and technical documentation of the solution.
  • Develop interfaces between SAP and external systems using SAP PO(Process orchestration).
  • Develop reports/core data services or API's to expose the SAP data to external reporting systems.
  • Co-ordinate unit and integration testing with business users.
  • Provide operational level 2 support in the ERP system to Supply Division Business Centres and to country offices.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor or centre Chief.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Education: A first level university (Bachelor’s) degree in Computer Science or Business Administration or equivalent.

Specific Technical Knowledge:

Demonstrated knowledge in developing programs, utilities and reports using ABAP Development Tools in a complex ERP environment.

Excellent knowledge of Warehouse management and production planning  modules of the SAP system is essential. 

Excellent knowledge of interfaces development between SAP and external systems using SAP PO.

Excellent knowledge in developing system enhancements using BADI's and user exits..

Common Technical Knowledge Required:

Use of Microsoft Office Suite. This includes MS Project and MS VISIO

Project management methodologies

Technical Knowledge to be Acquired/Enhanced:

Familiarity with SAP business technology Platform.

Knowledge of SAP S/4 HANA.

Work experience: Minimum 2 years of progressively responsible work experience in design, programming, configuration and implementation of SAP ERP in the areas of supply chain process.

  • Systems development experience in WM and PP modules of SAP is essential.
  • Experience in developing reports using ALV, document printouts using PDF Forms, SAPScripts  is essential.
  • Interfaces development between SAP and external systems using SAP PO is essential.
  • Development experience using SAP FIORI and Workflows is desirable.
  • Experience working with the UN or an international, multi-cultural organization is desirable.

Language Requirements: Fluency in English and working knowledge of another UN language an advantage.

UNICEF appointments are subject to medical clearance.  Issuance of a visa by the host country of the duty station, which will be facilitated by UNICEF, is required for IP positions. Appointments are also subject to inoculation (vaccination) requirements, including against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid). Government employees that are considered for employment with UNICEF are normally required to resign from their government before taking up an assignment with UNICEF. UNICEF reserves the right to withdraw an offer of appointment, without compensation, if a visa or medical clearance is not obtained, or necessary inoculation requirements are not met, within a reasonable period for any reason.
