Introduction
|
Reporting to the Radiology Manager, successful candidate
will be responsible for preparing the patient(s) for the ultrasound
examination, electing the appropriate equipment for the ultrasound
examination, performing ultrasound examinations that yield important
diagnostic information in accordance with the standards of professional
practice as well as within a client and family Centred care model and the
vision and values of the organization

Practices safe work procedures with diagnostic Sonographic
and medical imaging such as
Sonographer other diagnostic related medical equipment for examinations in compliance with departmental standards by:- •Performing abdominal, obstetrical, pelvic, peripheral vascular, musculo-skeletal and small parts ultrasound examinations, observing patient safety practices. •Receiving and completing requisitions, enters relevant data into the diagnostic imaging information system, •Preparing patients for specific procedures, and conducts examinations utilizing ultrasound and Doppler techniques. •Participating on committees/teams within the Hospital to facilitate planning and implementing treatment programs for complex medical conditions. •Working closely with the Radiologist in a consultative manner and is answerable both to The Radiologist and Radiology Manager. |

Requirements

Minimum Job Requirements
Education •Degree in Radiography with specialization on Sonography or equivalent qualification •BHPC Registration is mandatory. Experience •One year/Internship/Apprenticeship working experience a healthcare facility in the radiology section •Experience in a Hospital environment will be an added advantage . Competency Requirements •Good work ethics •Integrity •Teamwork •Computer skills •Physical ability to perform the duties of the position. •Technical knowledge of theory and practice for diagnostic medical Sonography procedures and all related equipment knowledge of theory and practice Ability to performs sonographic examinations •Knowledge of the aseptic techniques, manual handling techniques and demonstrate ability in CPR techniques |
