The Companies and
Intellectual Property Authority (CIPA), is an autonomous body that has been
established in terms of the Companies and Intellectual Property Authority Act
no 14 of 2011. The Authority is charged with the responsibility of implementing
four different acts, namely: The Companies Act, Registration of Business Names
Act, Industrial Property Act and the Copyright and Neighbouring Rights Act.
The Authority is
positioning itself for the advancement of its mandate and is searching for some
dynamic individual to take up the above position within the Corporate Services
division reporting to the Director Corporate Services:
Main purpose of the job
To develop and implement human resource strategies to ensure
the provision of Human Resource services to CIPA and enable achievement of
Organisational objectives. To promote a conducive work environment in order to
meet business objectives.
Qualifications, experience and knowledge required
- Bachelor’s
Degree in Human Resource Management/Industrial Psychology.
- Eight
(8) years post qualification experience in a human resource environment of
which three (3) should have been served in a managerial position.
- Expert
knowledge in Recruitment and Selection, Labour Relations, Performance
Management, Compensation and Rewards.
- Knowledge
of Botswana Labour/Employment laws is essential.
Key responsibilities
- Develop
and Implement HR annual plan, and align the departmental goals to the
overall corporate objectives.
- Ensure
that the organisation has enough talent to drive the strategy and that the
organisation’s wide retention strategies are in place.
- Define
the Authority’s performance management policies and processes. Implement,
manage and monitor the performance management system.
- Develop
the HR strategy and process and ensuring that the HR strategy is aligned
with the overall corporate strategy.
- Implement
initiatives to minimise grievances and disputes.
- Develop
and Implement training and development programmes.
- Implement
strategies to minimise staff turnover.
- Motivate,
identify and develop talent amongst staff.
- Manage
Organisational Development.
- Monitor
labour market trends and advice on adoption of remuneration and reward
policies to enable the Authority to compete cost effectively for best
talent.
