VACANCIES AT BOTSWANA POWER CORPORATION (BPC): VARIOUS POSITIONS - I


SERVICE DESK - ENGINEER (TENABLE IN MORUPULE)

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To provide 1st and 2nd support to BPC IT users by taking calls, troubleshooting, tracking and resolving issues.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Computer Studies - Engineering or related.
• Certificate (preferred but not required): MCP or A+ plus Membership of BIE or equivalent.

Experience:

• Minimum five (5) years' experience in a Service Desk/ Support Analyst capacity. ITIL Foundation certification or working towards it and/or experience in an ITIL environment. Strong Windows XP, Vista, MS office and PC hardware and software troubleshooting skills.

INFORMATION SECURITY OFFICER-COMPLIANCE (TENABLE IN GABORONE)

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To ensure that information created, acquired or maintained by BPC is used in accordance with intended purpose; to protect BPC information and its infrastructure from external and internal threats; and to ensure that BPC complies with statutory and regulatory requirements regarding information access, security and privacy.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering or related discipline.
• Relevant industry certification in information security related area e.g. MCSE security, CISSP, GSEC, SSCP, CIW etc.
• Membership of BIE or equivalent is desirable.

Experience

• Minimum five years broad IT experience including three years' experience in information security. • Experience in developing and administering an information security program desirable.
• Working knowledge of and experience in policy and regulatory environment of information security.
• Knowledge of governance, risk management and compliance.

MANAGER IT INFRASTRUCTURE AND OPERATIONS (TENABLE IN GABORONE)

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To provide an efficient and continually available enterprise IT infrastructure consisting of local and wide area data networks,  enterprise services, storage services, voice networks, and  effective end user support service through proactive maintenance of the ICT infrastructure and operations.

Qualifications:

• A degree in Information System, Computer Science or Information Technology.
• Membership of BIE or equivalent desirable.
• Membership of relevant industry qualification in a technological domain e.g. MCSE, MCSA, CCNA, etc.

Experience:

• Minimum of ten (10) years combined experience in IT operations, local and wide area network and telecommunications management.
• Five of those years must include management experience in a similar role.
•Minimum of six (6) years of experience in IT Infrastructure and support services.
