INFRASTRUCTURE MANAGER
Botswana Life Insurance seeks a dynamic hands-on individual
for the position of Infrastructure Manager – Business Technology. The purpose
of this role is to manage the day to day operations of the infrastructure
landscape supplying IT services to the BIHL Group including, Botswana Insurance
Holding Limited, Botswana Life, Botswana Investment Fund Management and SURE!
Requirements
Key Performance Areas
Monitoring and evaluating implementation of technology
strategy;
Assisting with technical and impact analyses;
Setting appropriate objectives to meet the departmental vision;
Developing best practice directives and standards for the section.
Network, Server and management;
Coordinating the analysis of business requirements (new or existing) to identify impact on infrastructure requirements, taking remedial action as appropriate;
Oversee the effective management of major projects supporting the IT vision.
Ensure the preparation and on-going management of the Technology budget and the delivery of cost effective, timely and reliable business solutions and support activities within this budget.
Ensure physical and logical security of all technology shared services computing assets, including data.
Ensure processes are in place to ensure adherence to policies and guidelines
Manages and controls operational budget (recurrent and capital) of about P28 million per annum. Approves and authorizes expenditure subject only to Group financial policies and regulations.
Develops and maintains the annual operating and capital budgets for health care network information and technology systems operations consistent with programmatic plans and established financial guidelines.

Education
Graduate degree in any IT / Business Systems (applications)
related field Master’s program is an additional benefit.
Background Experience:
Background Experience:
A minimum of ten (10) years post qualification experience in
the IT Sector. Experience in the Financial Services Sector (life insurance
business, investment funds management, banking and/or any other financial
service) will be an added advantage.
At least five (8) years of these should have been in general management capacity with responsibility for strategic planning, budgeting, recruitment, and profit accountability.
