IN ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY

Duties: The successful candidate will
be expected to teach theory and laboratory courses in general and Analytical
Chemistry to Undergraduate and Graduate classes. The candidate will be expected
to do active research in an area that complements existing research in the
Chemistry Department or in the candidate's area of specialization as well as
render the professional service normally expected of a University academic. The
following are some of the research areas that are currently of interest to the
Analytical Chemistry section: Bioanalysis, and Water & Environmental
Pollution.
Requirements: The candidate must have (i) at
least a Master’s degree (MSc) in Chemistry, specializing in Analytical
Chemistry; (ii) a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or a related field with at
least a 2(i) pass/ GPA of at least 3.6; (iii) show evidence of engagement in
research and service; (iv) should be able to teach Analytical Chemistry,
including Bioanalysis and electrochemistry, at both Undergraduate and Graduate
levels; (v) a relevant PhD Degree, teaching experience at a University or
comparable institution and demonstration of effective academic leadership will
be added advantages. Knowledge of the application and operation of modern
analytical instruments such as electrochemical analyzer, atomic absorption
spectrometry, HPLC and Ion Chromatograph, Capillary Electrophoresis, UV-Vis,
FT-IR and Mass Spectrometer will also be added advantages.
