Key Purpose
To develop the retailing competencies of Engen Retail staff and Dealer Staff on an ongoing basis as per identified training needs.

Specific Outcomes
Business Planning:
• Retail staff training strategy in line with overall Retail Training strategy
• Business plan in place and signed off
• Compile Retail staff training strategy
• Conduct annual business planning
• Compile business plan
Retail Staff Training:
• Training needs defined & prioritised
• Effective training solutions in place
• Training program compiled & communicated
• Training courses completed as planned
• Identify training needs
• Develop Training solutions (self, external consultants, joint venture)
• Source external training service providers
• Plan & coordinate training program
• Manage external training service providers
• Present Training courses
• Evaluate training effectiveness
• Report on the performance of the training function (training statistics, training effectiveness, etc)
Network Manager Induction:
• NM Induction process in place and signed off
• Effective induction completed for new NMs
• Acts as process owner for NM induction program (plan, design, development, sign-off)
• Run induction program as required
Financial Management:
• Adherence to Training budget
• Training income targets met
• Assets effectively maintained and utilised
• Manage staff training budget
• Monitor Forecourt Trainers’ income & expenses
• Maintain and control Engen assets utilised by Forecourt Trainers (equipment, vehicles)
Management of Subordinates:
• Effective and satisfied staff
• Effective performance contracting and appraisal processes
• Reportees’ Individual Development Plans (IDPs) up to date
• Manage people issues on an ongoing basis
• Conduct Performance contracting and performance appraisals with reportees
• Monitor reportees’ performance on an ongoing basis
• Identify staff training needs and solutions
• Address instances of non-performance and take the appropriate corrective action
Interaction with external stakeholders:
• Informed stakeholders
• Stakeholder input and requirements obtained
• Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders
• Attend Dealer representative forums as required (GAP meetings)
• Attend Sales meetings as required
Education & Experience
Matric
Relevant tertiary qualification
5 years relevent experience
