VACANCY NO: FET/CE 6/2014: LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER/ASSOCIATE
PROFESSOR/PROFESSOR IN LAND MANAGEMENT/REAL ESTATE (2 year contract)
Duties: The successful candidate will be
expected to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses. The candidate
should be able to teach any three of the following: Principles of Valuation;
Land Economics; Statutory Valuation and Property Management. The Department
reserves the right to allocate other courses in addition to those outlined
above.
Requirements: Lecturer: Candidates should
(i) have a Masters in Real Estates (Valuation/Land Economics/Property
Management/Property Development and Investment or equivalent plus a Bachelors
degree in Real Estate/land Economy or equivalent discipline with at least
a 2(i) pass/GPA of at least 3.6; (ii) show evidence of engagement in
research and service; (iii) a relevant PhD and/or a relevant professional
qualification will be an added advantage, (iv) teaching experience at a
University or comparable institution and demonstration of effective academic
leadership will also be added advantages
Senior Lecturer: Candidates should have: (i) a
Master’s Degree in Real Estates or related fields; (ii) a Bachelor’s Degree in
Real Estates or related fields with at least 2(i) pass/ GPA of at least 3.6 or
equivalent; (iii) at least 3 years of teaching experience at a university or
comparable institution; (iv) have a good and sustained record of research and
publications with at least 6 publications, 4 of which are peer reviewed journal
articles; (v) lead and/or single author in at least 2 refereed journal articles
or book chapters; (vi) applicants should demonstrate evidence of service; (vii)
a relevant PhD and demonstration of effective academic leadership will be added
advantages.
Associate Professor: Candidates must have: (i) a
Masters degree in Real Estates (Valuation/Land Economics/Property
Management/Property Development and Investment or equivalent); (ii) Bachelors
degree in Real Estates (Valuation/Land Economics/Property Management/Property
Development and Investment or equivalent) with at least a 2(i) pass/GPA of
at least 3.6; (iii) at least 5 years of teaching experience at a university
or comparable institution; (iv) have a good and sustained record of research
and publications with at least 12 publications, 8 of which should be refereed
journal articles; (v) lead and/or single authored in at least 6 refereed
journal articles or book chapters; (vi) Evidence of service to University, the
Profession and the Community; (vii) Evidence of effective academic leadership
Professor: Candidates should have: (i) a Masters
degree in any area of Real Estates (Valuation/Land Economics/Property
Management/Property Development and Investment or equivalent); (ii) Bachelors
degree in any area of Real Estates (Valuation/Land Economics/Property
Management/Property Development and Investment or equivalent) with at least a
2(i) pass/GPA of at least 3.6; (iii) at least 8 years university teaching
experience or equivalent; (iv) at least 24 publications, 12 of which are peer
reviewed journal papers; (v) lead and/or single authored in at least 10
refereed journal articles or book chapters (vi) evidence of academic
leadership; (vii) evidence of service to university, profession and community; (viii)
Evidence of effective academic leadership.A Ph.D. in one of the Real Estates
specializations as well as ability to attract research grants will be
added advantages
