WWF South Africa: IT Technician

WWF seeks to appoint a IT Technician, based in Rosebank, Johannesburg.

Responsibilities:

  • Desktop support:
    • Hardware, Software and User support;
    • Install and configure new hardware and software;
    • Helpdesk support: Logging, addressing, escalating and troubleshooting any reported problems;
    • Answering technical queries and dealing with often frustrated users;
    • Applying operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes;
    • Provide support for scheduled resource usage i.e. Video Conferencing, Voice recorders, conference phone etc.
    • Remote support for Satellite users and offices.
  • Server support:
  • User and Group maintenance: Adding, removing, or updating user account information, resetting passwords, etc.
  • Administrate server folder and service access security;
  • Responsibile for documenting the configuration of the system;
  • Analyse system logs and identifying potential issues with computer systems;
  • Apply operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes;
  • Introduce and integrating new technologies into existing server environment;
  • System performance tuning;
  • Apply operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes;
  • Communications infrastructure support:
    • Administrate Voice, data and video communication systems
  • Printer and copier support;
  • Perform routine audits of systems and software;
  • Perform daily backups;
  • Ensure that the network infrastructure is up and running;
  • Manage Cloud and Intranet User account setup
Requirements:

  • Qualification: MCSE;
  • Minimum of two years working experience in a Microsoft Server 2008 environment;
  • Active directory, group policy experience essential;
  • Pastel and VIP server experience advantageous;
  • User technical support experience;
  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Ability to multi-task;
  • General administrative skills;
  • Communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Time management skills.
