candidates for the position ofProgram Officer I, EMIS in Monrovia, Liberia.
Project Description:
The Liberia Teacher Training Program (LTTP) is a
USAID-funded initiative being implemented by FHI 360 in collaboration with
Research Triangle International. The overarching goals of LTTP are to support
student learning through classroom interventions and strengthening the
capacity of the Ministry of Education (MoE) to manage such a system. Another
major goal is to improve early grade reading and mathematics in Liberia. The
interventions proposed in LTTP target reforms in three areas: (1) policies,
systems and capacity development of the central MoE, County and District
Education Offices; the RTTIs and the Universities; (2) pre- and in-service
policies and teacher professional development and (3) improved teacher
training programs and reading/math delivery systems. One of the sub-results
under component 3 involves the strengthening of pre-service teacher
preparation program with emphasis on reading and math.
Position Description:
The USAID-funded Liberia Teacher Education Program is
seeking a Program Officer, Education Management Information System.
The EMIS Program Officer is a member of the EMIS team. A fundamental part of
a properly functioning education system is its ability to base planning and
policy on data from every level of the system. To this end, LTTP is providing
the technical support to the Liberian MoE to build a robust EMIS system.
As such the EMIS Assistant will assist the EMIS Associate Director and
EMIS Program Officer II in the collection of data needed to achieve this
program goal.
This position will be based in Monrovia, Liberia.
