SENIOR LECTURER/ LECTURER IN RECREATION &
LEISURE MANAGEMENT
VACANCY NO: FE/PE 03/2013
DUTIES:The successful candidate is expected to: (i)
teach recreation and leisure management courses at undergraduate and
graduate level and supervises research, essays/dissertations and practicum;
(ii) participate in all academic and professional activities of the department
including research and curriculum review; (iii) carry out any other duties as
may be assigned by the Head of Department.
REQUIREMENTS: SENIOR LECTURER: Applicants
should hold: (i) a master’s degree inRecreation and Leisure Management or
related discipline (ii) a Bachelor’s degree inRecreation and
Leisure Management or related discipline with at least a 2(i)/GPA of
at least 3.6; (iii) at least 3 years of teaching
experience at a university or comparable institution; (iv) a good and
sustained record of research and publications with at least 6 publications, 4
of which are peer reviewed journal articles; (iv) lead and/or single author in
at least 2 refereed journal articles or book chapters; (v) applicants should
demonstrateevidence of service in the three areas: institution, profession and
community; (vi) a relevant PhD and demonstration of effective academic
leadership will be added advantages.
LECTURER: Applicants should hold a (i) Master’s
Degree in Recreation & Leisure Management or related discipline;
(ii) a Bachelor Degree in Recreation & Leisure Management or
related discipline with at least a 2(i)/GPA of at least 3.6; (iii)
Show evidence of engagement in research and service; (iv) Relevant teaching
experience at a University or comparable institution as well as a relevant PhD
will be added advantages.
