Geographic Location: • Bryanston, Gauteng province, South Africa Industry: • Engineering Consulting and Power Generation Duration: • Permanent Position Summary: Parsons Brinckerhoff is seeking a Director New Business. This role will lead the growth of PB Africa into new sectors to complement its existing position in Power and Mining. The priority is on the South African market but will involve other African countries.  Qualifications, Competencies and Experience: • Should have held an operational management position as a senior level with line management responsibility. Experience with a consultancy or construction company is necessary. Business development experience could be an advantage. • Honours Degree, Masters would be an advantage • Member of relevant professional institution, preferably engineering. • Previous experience of starting business streams “from scratch” would be an advantage. • Previous involvement in infrastructure would also be an advantage. • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to persuade • Ability to create a business case to set up a stream, sell the business case and set up the business • Understands the roles of marketing in devising strategy • Understanding of strategy • Ability to plan and organise • Understands financial management • Ability to collaborate with business stream leaders and provide strong direction for the collective new business. • Self motivated and client focused • Can demonstrate a high standard of business ethics • Good team player and communicator Responsibilities: • Profit and loss responsibility for current and future business streams in New Business • Win and deliver work • Prepare and deliver pursuit plans for New Business streams • Develop strategies for entering new markets and devise any structural changes necessary to do so e.g. special purpose vehicles • Build a network of key relationships with PB Global, customers, partners and suppliers • Form alliances with partners such as construction companies and consultants Internal Contacts: • Colleagues on Management Team • PB colleagues globally • Business Development Director External Contacts: • Senior representatives of customer companies • Senior representatives of partner companies Remuneration: • Market related and highly negotiable TCTC Disclaimer and Basic Requirements: • South African citizenship is a pre-requisite • Relevant previous experience is essential • Communication will be with short-listed candidates only - if you do not receive any feedback on your application within 3 weeks, please consider your application unsuccessful • Parsons Brinckerhoff Africa reserves the right not to proceed with an appointment of any advertised role • All appointments will be made in line with Parsons Brinckerhoff Africa's Employment Equity Plan and Policies • All enquiries and applications will be treated confidentially • No enquiries or unsolicited resumes from recruiting agencies or head hunters will be acknowledged or considered, unless they were mandated by Parsons Brinkerhoff Africa to assist with this requirement
