Business Analyst - Non-Bank Financial Institutions Regulatory Authority (NBFIRA)

Non-Bank Financial Institutions Regulatory Authority (NBFIRA) is a parastatal organisation established by the Non-Bank Financial Institutions Regulatory Authority Act of 2006. The mandate of the Authority is to regulate and enforce compliance within the Non-Bank Financial Institutions sector in order to safeguard the stability, fairness, efficiency and orderliness of the sector.

Business Analyst (2 year fixed term contract)
Reports to: Head of Information Technology

The purpose of the job is to understand and document business requirements across the Authority and develop test environment for the system. To coordinate and manage change requests for the business systems across the whole business.

Key Performance Areas


• To carry out gap analysis, process modelling, use case development and documentation
• To research on solutions and make recommendations for improvement
• The use of visual software tools to model business requirements captured during the design phase of the project
• To drive the system testing which will include test plan preparation and ensuring features meet user acceptance criteria
• To carry out user training and coaching activities, including preparation of training materials and delivery of deployment services, such as system pilots

Experience and Qualification


• Bachelor’s degree in information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent
• Professional qualification will be an added advantage
• At least 5 years IT related experience
• A proven track record working on software implementation projects, ideally implementing Commercial on the Shelf packages within the public sector or finance industry
• Experience in requirements gathering and documentation, requirements analysis and solution design, test plan preparation, user training, pilot preparation planning and execution.
• Solid understanding of software paradigm such as object oriented programming and relational database modelling are desirable.
