Director, Commercial

The main purpose of the job is to direct and manage the Bank's Commercial Segment which focuses on SMMEs. The job-holder will identify and execute strategic marketing objectives for growth within this sector, and bring more focus to the Bank-Client relationship. The focus will be to drive the client-centric growth strategy and business development opportunities and further strengthen the Bank's ability to deliver value to the segment clients. 

The individual will primarily be responsible for, but not limited to the following:

Develop, coordinate and implement a strategic plan for SMME, which will clearly differentiate the Bank in the market place

Execute a marketing and business development plan to achieve overall business goals of the Bank and continually assess progress

Collaborate with other product houses for product development & design, and pricing strategies. Identify the said sectors' needs and deliver customized solutions Maintain an appropriate profile within the business community through networking i.e, membership to external bodies, attend business forums, and interact with the relevant regulatory, political role players

Arrange networking sessions, seminars and other activities to build strong relations with the sectors' customers Develop strategies to improve operational and cost efficiencies

Develop appropriate people management strategies to enhance optimal efficiency

The key job requirements include the following:

B,Com or Business Degree and a relevant post graduate program

Institute of Bankers qualification will be an added advantage

Relevant experience in the SMM E sector either within the banking industry or other related industries

Good knowledge of Botswana's SMME policy

The job requires strong leadership skills, good business acumen, good networking skills, and good presentations skills
