Applications
are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals, for the
position of Manager, Staff Training and Development in the Department of Human
Resources.
Main
Purpose of the Job: (i) Organising
and coordinating the University’s Staff Development and Training programmes to
ensure that the university is adequately staffed with appropriately trained and
experienced employees in academic and support service areas. (ii)Coordinating
and administering the University’s Staff Development Fellows programme to meet
the University’s medium and long term academic staffing needs and localisation
targets.
Key
Performance Areas: (i) Cost effective management of training budget; (ii) Implementation of
training and localisation programmes; (iii) Quality of selection of staff for
training and success on training programmes; (iv) Quality and professionalism
of work and Customer satisfaction.
Job
Requirements: Applications
must have; (i) a Degree in Social Science or related
area; (ii) At least, three years working
experience in human resource training and development; (iii) a
thorough knowledge of training needs analysis, competency assessment, at
national and international training institutions. A Master’s degree in Human
Resources Management or Human Resources Development or closely related field
will be an added advantage.

Organisational skills and assertiveness.
