NO. FE/EDF 2/2018: PROFESSOR/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/SENIOR LECTUER/LECTURER IN
RESEARCH AND EVALUATION, DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATIONS (1 position)
Duties: The successful candidate is
expected to: (i) Teach research and evaluation at both undergraduate and
graduate level. (ii) Participate in all academic and professional
activities of the department including research and curriculum review; (iii)
carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department
Requirements: Professor: Candidates must have (i) at
least a Master’s Degree in Educational Research and Evaluation; with a focus in
Item Response Theory and/or evaluation with a focus on Research Designs and
Evaluation Methodology; (ii) have at least 8 years of teaching
experience in a University or comparable institution. (iii) A good and
sustained record of research and publications with at least 24 publications, 12 of
which should be refereed journal articles reflecting a spread of national and
international journals and/or publishing outlets; (iv) lead and/or single
author in at least 10 refereed journal articles or book
chapters (v) evidence of service to the University, the profession and the
Community; (vi) evidence of effective academic leadership. The ability to
attract research grants from international source will be an added advantage. A
relevant PhD, expertise in the use of technology in research and impact
evaluation methodologies, multi-disciplinary experience in teaching, research,
administration or consultancy work will also be added advantage.
Associate
Professor: Candidates
must have (i) at least a Master’s Degree in Educational Research and
Evaluation; with a focus in Item Response Theory and/or evaluation with a focus
on Research Designs and Evaluation Methodology; (ii) have at least 5 years
of teaching experience in a University or comparable institution. (iii) A good
and sustained record of research and publications with at least 12 publications, 8 of
which should be refereed journal articles reflecting a spread of national and
international journals and/or publishing outlets; (iv) lead and/or single
author in at least 6 refereed journal articles or book
chapters (v) evidence of service to the University, the profession and the
Community; (vi) evidence of effective academic leadership. The ability to
attract research grants from international source will be an added advantage. A

evaluation methodologies, multi-disciplinary experience in teaching, research,
administration or consultancy work will also be added advantage
Senior
Lecturer: Candidates
must have (i) at least a Master’s Degree in Educational Research and
Evaluation; with a focus in Item Response Theory and/or evaluation with a focus
on Research Designs and Evaluation Methodology; (ii) a Bachelor’s Degree in
Educational Research and Evaluation with at least a second class first division
(2.1) pass/GPA of at least 3.6 or equivalent (iii) have at least 3 years
of teaching experience in a University or comparable institution; (iv) A good
and sustained record of research and publications with at least 6 publications, 4 of
which should be refereed journal articles reflecting a spread of national and
international journals and/or publishing outlets; (v) lead and/or single author
in at least 2 refereed journal articles or book chapters; (vi)
evidence of engagement in service; (vii) The following will be added
advantages: (i) evidence of effective academic leadership; (ii) A relevant PhD;
(iii) expertise in the use of technology in research and impact evaluation
methodologies; (iv) multi-disciplinary experience in teaching, research,
administration or consultancy work.
Lecturer: Candidates must have (i) at
least a Master’s Degree in Educational Research and Evaluation; with a focus in
Item Response Theory and/or evaluation with a focus on Research Designs and
Evaluation Methodology; (ii) a Bachelor’s Degree in Educational Research and
Evaluation with at least a second class first division (2.1) pass/GPA of at
least 3.6 or equivalent; (iii) Evidence of engagement in research and service.
A relevant PhD, teaching experience at a University or comparative institution,
expertise in the use of technology in research and impact evaluation
methodologies and effective academic leadership will be added advantage.
Note: For Professor/Associate
Professor/Senior Lecturer, the curriculum vitae (CV) should contain a
detailed list of publications: clearly specifying titles of publications, dates
published, names of publishers, names of co-authors if any, and number of
pages. The publications should be categorized into: books, monographs, chapters
in books, refereed and non-refereed journals, consultancies etc. The CV should
also have a detailed list of courses taught and the levels for which they were
taught
