The WILPF PeaceWomen Programme Associate will work
closely with staff to develop a comprehensive message platform for our work on
gender, disarmament, and human security, as part of WILPF's communication
strategy. S/he will oversee the implementation of our messaging through
management of our monitoring and outreach work.
The Programme Associate should be a highly motivated and
politically driven individual with demonstrated skill in managing volunteers or
staff and liaising with global collaborators. Priority consideration will be
given to applicants with campaign experience and expertise in communicating
issues of gender, security, or global politics
. 
Communications
- Manage
     outreach and communications and act as PeaceWomen liaison
- Work
     with PeaceWomen fellows/interns to manage, maintain, and develop the PeaceWomen website, including
     special features on Women, Peace and Security financing and the Global
     Acceleration Instrument
- Work
     with PeaceWomen fellows/interns to maintain/ develop our innovative
     resources as needed including around our WPS mobile application and
     Security Council Scorecard
- Act
     as main liaison with technical team; provide technical support for office.
Project Management
- Manage
     intern/fellow recruitment, orientation, and training
- Manage
     monitoring and evaluation projects, working with team and partners to
     ensure project maintenance / completion around monitoring of the Security
     Council, Member States, and United Nations
- Support
     needs assessment survey on WPS financing by working with staff to publish
     survey and report
- Manage
     data collection by fellows/interns for research project on WPS financing
     as part of outreach to strengthen awareness and support for reallocating
     military spending to gender equality and peace
- Support
     publication of toolkits, factsheets, lessons, lessons learned series,
     and/or other innovative tools around WPS financing and implementation
Operational Support
- Attend
     and represent PeaceWomen at events and meetings at the United Nations and
     among civil society
- Support
     fundraising proposals and reporting
- Respond
     to general requests to the PeaceWomen by email, mail and telephone, or
     delegating to, and supervising the carrying out of this responsibility by,
     others.
- Assist
     in general maintenance of the PeaceWomen programme through performance of
     ad hoc tasks and responsibilities as mutually agreed with the relevant
     supervisor.
Qualifications
- Commitment: Strong
     commitment to WILPF mission and vision and work for gender equality, peace
     and disarmament. Experience and commitment to women's rights and peace and
     particularly related to women, peace and security.
- Education: Masters/graduate
     degree preferable in Journalism, Communication, Advertising, or a related
     field with gender/politics experience; or: masters/graduate degree in
     women's rights, peace, international relations, human rights, social
     sciences or a related field with strong communications experience.
- Experience: Minimum
     5 years of relevant work experience, including at least 3 years
     progressively responsible management experience
Related Skills and Knowledge
- Exceptional
     ability to motivate, mentor, and coordinate volunteers / trainees, and
     orchestrate effective communication among staff, interns/fellows,
     technical team, international staff, diplomatic and INGO partners, and
     global peace advocates
- Exemplary
     verbal and written communication skills in English with high attention to
     detail and strong organizational skills, including experience in copy
     editing and/or other media release writing;
- Ability
     to take initiative, prioritize tasks with minimal supervision, and work
     independently are required, as is ability to ability to work well under
     pressure while juggling multiple tasks simultaneously as part of a team;
- Strong
     computer skills: fluency in MS Office applications; experienced in
     managing or developing website CMS platforms (e.g., Drupal or Wordpress),
     traditional and social media (press releases, blogs, Facebook, Twitter,
     Instagram), and electronic newsletters (e.g., MailChimp); experience with
     mobile applications, graphic design or video production a plus;
- Ability
     to represent WILPF PeaceWomen through work with exemplary personal and
     professional authority and conduct;
- Sense
     of humour, and ability to show tact, diplomacy, and maturity in dealing
     with interns/fellows and colleagues;
- Prior
     research and analysis experience and fluency in language other than
     English a plus.
