will contribute towards the provision of sustainable and equitable safe water
and adequate sanitation to the poor through the development and provision of
technical support in water supply hardware together with delivery of innovative
sanitary designs and their promotion. You will work with national and local
government levels, private sector and NGO’s. All job vacancies are at a
national level.
Grants Management & Fundraising Manager
This is a Senior Management position the job holder will
have a minimum of 5 years experience at this level preferably in a non profit
making organization. The ideal candidate will spearhead developing
funding proposals and participate in implementing fundraising plans. You will
support quality reporting and effective compliance to donor requirements.
Assessing and monitoring of WaterAid funded grants on a regular basis, support
partners through relevant coaching and training. Leading on providing
structured actionable feedback to the senior management team relative to donors
and grants management matters. This post is the main focal liaison with Funding
team in the UK and should coordinate grant management information nationally
and internationally.
Requirements: You will have a minimum of a degree in
Business Administration and /or Accounting qualification/certification e.g. CA,
ACCA, CIMA, CPA or a Master’s degree in a Finance qualification with quality
and relevant experience in finance, and fund management. Experience in
preparing and monitoring budgets & developing monitoring and reporting
systems is ideal. Demonstrate the ability to think strategically with excellent
planning and prioritization skills. You should be able to work effectively in a
diverse team environment with excellent leadership skills.

Programme Coordinator Advocacy
As an active member of the Integrated Water Sanitation and Hygiene team, you shall be part of the strategic planning, co-ordination, management and implementation of WAU’s advocacy and communication strategy. You will focus on joint collaboration with District Local Governments, CSO partners and other relevant stakeholders in order to optimize their impact of working with communities, especially the poor to effectively advocate and address their interests to water sanitation and hygiene at district, regional and national levels. You are part of the team responsible for enhancing the scale and quality of WaterAid’s influencing agenda at district level.

Social Sciences, Development studies with a development bias. Minimum of 5
years proven experience in conducting research, policy analysis and Advocacy
work. Participated in studies on poverty and its impact on social development
or experience of capacity building of NGO development partner organizations in
advocacy. With good skills in presentation, facilitation, coordination, public
speaking, documentation and information management.

Programme Coordinator Research & DocumentationThe job holder will contribute towards the development and provision of
analytical political, social and economic Water, Sanitation and Hygiene trends
and to identify learning and research issues on the obstacles to sustainable
Water, Sanitation and Hygiene access in Uganda. You will undertake research and
together with the rest of the team, document and ensure learning from best
practices, lessons, challenges and success stories by the development sector
actors including government departments. Help to build the capacity of WaterAid
Uganda (WAU) partners, and lead on the coordination of all research and
documentation work.
Requirements: You will have a minimum degree in
Social Sciences/Development predisposition or an advanced degree in Public
Health, Sociology, Economics, and Social Statistics with a strong development
bias. You will have at least 5 years demonstrated working experience in
Research and Policy analysis in the field of development with any reputed
national/ international/ donor agency. Knowledge and experience in writing
technical research proposals, briefs and other information materials generated
from research findings with experience and knowledge on WASH sector/ issues is
desirable with proven ability to analyse (qualitative and quantitative) data
will be an added advantage for you. You should have the ability to
communicate research findings clearly to policy-making audiences, as well as
being able to identify knowledge gaps excellent report writing and
documentation skills.

Head of Policy, Research & CampaignsThis is a Senior Management position and you will champion all the policy
influencing emerging from our policy analysis, research and practice work which
should result in sustainable improvements in equitable access to safe water and
sanitation to rights holders. In line with our influencing agenda,
you will liaise closely and with policy makers and key stakeholders within the
government, international agencies and other stakeholders in the sector to
maximize WAU’s efforts and impact in promoting right to sanitation, water and
hygiene for all with focus on poor and excluded people.
Requirements: You must have a University degree in
Development studies, Social Science, a postgraduate diploma in Project
Management, or any first degree and masters in project management,
International development, or studies, or related area in human rights. You
must have been at a management level for a minimum of five years, specifically
involved in proposal writing, project design, implementation, monitoring
evaluation. You will posses strong writing skills, experience in producing grant
proposals, and other informational documents. Having excellent
communication, facilitation, influencing and interpersonal skills will be an
added advantage

Program Accountant –Management AccountingYou will give routine support to the senior management team and non finance
staff in the areas of financing, planning, budget management and budget rolling
forecasting. Participate in the review and consolidation of country programme
finance plans and budget. You will prepare and monitor budgets as well as
provide financial analysis that will be used for decision making at the senior
management team level. You will also support in maintaining an up-to-date
country programme funding matrix.
Requirements: You will have a minimum level 2 /skills
part qualification with CA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or a Bachelor’s degree in a Finance
field. You will have the ability to provide sound financial analysis. Knowledge
of international donor reporting and grants requirements will be an added
advantage. You will have practical knowledge and skills in using SUN based
Accounting systems. You will be working in a diverse team environment.

Programme Coordinator Data Management and IT
You will be responsible for providing the planning,
coordination, utilization and administration of the organization databases,
computer systems and networks. You will also be responsible for ensuring, IT
infrastructure, security, integrity, operational efficiency, scheduling and
documentation of the databases. You will establish written guidelines for the
overall management of the WAU database management systems as well as providing
IT support to staff and partners.
Requirements: You will have a Bachelor's Degree from an
accredited college or university with a major in either Computer Science,
Information Systems. Sound knowledge in Windows networks, active
directories, TCP/IP and Linux servers, Microsoft operating systems
software HTML, PHP, MySQL and JavaScript In depth technical knowledge of PC
hardware. You will have least five (5) years of systems analysis and/or
programming experience which includes at least two (2) years of database
management and administration experience.
