Gender M&E Innovator

This exciting Youth Innovator opportunity will include a pre-project distance-learning program, followed by an intensive six-week placement in Mwanza. While in-country, you will work with YCI’s field staff, local partner organizations and the local government to further the reach and relevance of their programming.

Working with local partners in eight countries around the world, YCI engages youth in creating solutions to the challenges they face. Kivulini is a women’s rights organization that facilitates the creation of social, economic and legal environments that guarantee women and girls’ rights to live in violence-free communities.

Key Responsibilities:
In conjunction with Kivulini staff:
• Review Kivulini's new Performance Monitoring Plan (PMP) and Gender Policy
• Develop an M&E plan specifically for the Gender Policy that fits within the overarching PMP
• Develop tools as necessary to support the implementation of the M&E plan
• Conduct presentations and final reports for Kivulini and YCI

Your Skills and Experience:
• Social studies with a focus on gender issues
• Demonstrated experience working with on policy adaptation/development
• Experience developing M&E indicators and strategy
• Experience in facilitating trainings and workshops
• Excellent organizational and planning skills
• Prior cross-cultural experience and strong inter-cultural communication skills
Fundraising Goal: YCI volunteers are required to fundraise and/or contribute a minimum of $600 for these projects to contribute towards YCI’s global youth development programs.

What’s Not Covered:
• Airfare
• Personal expenses
• Visa fees
• Participants will be expected obtain the required vaccinations and take anti-malarials at their own expense
